Patrick Melrose, Patrick Melrose, PATRICK MELROSE!! Okay, now that I've got that out of my system...
Another season, another award show - this time it's television. But to be fair, television has truly been remarkable these past few years (it may finally be giving cinema a run for it's money). I'm quite happy to see - um - Patrick Melrose gain some much deserved love. In my opinion, Patrick Melrose is one of the best television programmes I have ever seen (and, trust me, I've seen a lot), and Cumberbatch gives the best performance of his career, so fingers crossed! I'm also pleased to see Killing Eve, Phoebe Waller-Bridge's wonderfully wild new show earn some love (Waller-Bridge's previous show, Fleabag, was also stunning and heartbreaking).
But other than that, it is the standard programmes: The Crown, The Handmaid's Tale, Stranger Things, etc, etc, etc. We'll see how this year's Emmy categories fair up on September 17 (my hope is for Patrick to win everything - even the categories he's not nominated in).
